What are the requirements in using the library?

  • UP ID (official or temporary) countersigned for the current semester
  • Activated UP Webmail account* (Go to UP Computer Center to apply for one)

What are the privileges?

  • Borrowing privileges: circulation books - 2 weeks, reserve books - overnight, room use - other materials
  • 10 books for Graduate Students / 5 books for Undergraduate Students
  • Use of the library’s different stations and facilities

I am a new student, what should I do?

  • Apply for a UP ID following these steps:

What are the steps in applying for a UP ID?

  • Go to the University Registrar building
  • Pay the P130 University ID fee
  • Get an appointment slip - schedule for your ID picture taking
  • Come back at the appointed date for your ID
  • In the meantime, apply for a temporary ID

How do I apply for a temporary ID?

  • College of Science students should apply for a temporary ID at the College of Science Library
  • Other students should apply at their respective College Libraries
  • CS Students should bring the following :
    • Form 5 for the current semester stamped paid
    • Receipt for the ID fee
    • Appointment slip from the Registrars’ Office
    • 1×1 ID picture
    • Note that your application will not be processed if you do not have all of these requirements.

Can I also use other libraries?

  • You will need your countersigned UP ID (official or temporary) to enter and use other UP libraries

What if I have lost my official UP ID or temporary ID? ?

  • Your borrowing privileges will be suspended until you have claimed your official UP ID
  • Note that the Registrar issues UP ID for a student only once per semester.
  • Apply for a new one following the steps discussed above
