Circulation

Circulating books and other monographs are housed at the Circulation Section. Members of the UP academic community can borrow these books in accordance with UP library policies and procedures. The collection is composed mostly of textbooks and other supplemental materials used both for undergraduate and graduate Science courses. These books are carefully selected and evaluated by members of the faculty in each discipline. Yearly addition to the collection is processed based on the request and availability of funds.

Reserve

Books that are highly in demand but are only available in limited numbers, mostly single copy only, are placed on the Reserve Section. In this section, the books are loaned out for over-night use only. This is to ensure that a large number of users will have access to the valued material. Books placed in this section are based on the recommendations of faculty from College of Science.

Reference

Reference materials are placed on a closed section to ensure their availability to the users whenever they are needed. These are highly valuable materials used as references or aides for research activities. These books are available for room use only and can not be taken out of the library.

Filipiniana

Books written by Filipino authors and published in the Philippines are placed on Filipiniana section. These arrangement provide easy access to this special collection. These are prized materials specially to researches who are focused on local studies and resources.

LC Classification

The books in each section are classified following the Library of Congress Classification Scheme. Browse the shelves clockwise, as the Call Numbers of books are arranged alphanumerically based on LC, starting from left to right.
